Aggravated Robbery in Urbana - Posted 3/31/25

This week Crime Stoppers is seeking assistance from the public regarding an aggravated robbery.
On March 25, 2025, at approximately 2:20 p.m., police officers responded to Exotic’s Smoke Shop in the 100 block of E. University Ave. in Urbana for a robbery report. Responding officers learned a male entered the store and began selecting items. The male presented the items for purchase but instead of exchanging money, he attempted to grab the bag. When the store’s personnel resisted, the suspect walked behind the counter, pushed the employee, grabbed the bag of merchandise and attempted to leave the business. Another employee attempted to intervene at which point the suspect removed an object from his waistband and pointed it at the victims. The suspect fled on foot with the stolen merchandise.
The suspect was described as a black male, 25-30 years old, wearing a black stocking cap, a black puffy coat, black pants, and black and yellow Jordan 13 retro “Carmelo Class of 2002” high top shoes.
Criminal Damage to Property in Urbana- Posted 3/24/2025

On March 16, 2025, at approximately 6:45 p.m., three individuals entered a property owned by a private association in the 1700 block of East Perkins Road in Urbana. The suspects broke windows out of a truck parked on the property belonging to the association.
Police seek the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects captured on video. The suspects were described as three younger black males and were described as wearing the following.
Suspect 1 – blue hat, tan coat, black jeans, and black and white tennis shoes
Suspect 2 – black puffy coat, light colored jeans, and white tennis shoes
Suspect 3 – light blue hooded sweatshirt under a navy blue puffy coat, gray pants, and white tennis shoes
Homicide- Posted 3/17/2025

This week Champaign County Crime Stoppers is seeking assistance from the public regarding a homicide.
On October 4, 2022, at approximately 5:47 p.m., police officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of North Third Street in Champaign for a shooting with injuries. Upon arrival, officers located 25-year-old Rashaud Weatherall with life-threatening gunshot wounds. Officers immediately rendered medical aid until he could be transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Two additional gunshot victims arrived at the hospital by personal transport. They were treated and released.
The initial investigation indicated the men were attending a birthday party in the area when an unknown subject(s) opened fire on the group. Investigators have followed multiple leads over the past several years and are continuing to seek the public’s assistance with locating any additional information related to the individual(s) involved in this incident.
Homicide Investigation - Posted 3/10/25

Champaign County Crime Stoppers is seeking assistance from the public regarding a homicide investigation.
On February 7, 2025, at approximately 8:01 p.m., a shooting occurred in the 2000-block of Vawter Street in Urbana, which resulted in the death of 18-year-old Sherman McCraney. Surveillance video appeared to capture two black male suspects in the area at the time of the shooting. The two males had briefly stopped and talked with a third male just prior to the shooting and before fleeing the area.
Investigators seek the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects and person of interest captured on video. The suspects were described as two black males, the first male of average height with a stocky build, and the second male tall with a thin build. The third unknown male was described as wearing a tan jacket and black pants.
Police are asking any resident or business in the nearby area with exterior surveillance cameras and/or persons with cell phone video to review the footage for any suspicious persons or vehicles captured in the area around the time of the incident. It is believed video footage may be of investigative assistance.
Motor Vehicle Burglary in Champaign - Posted 3/3/24

This week Crime Stoppers is seeking assistance from the public regarding a burglary to motor vehicle investigation. On February 11 at 3:49 p.m.,
a female entered several parked vehicles in the 400 block of E. John St. in Champaign. Officers learned several items inside one vehicle were moved around, and the glove box was opened. At this time, it’s unknown if anything was stolen from the vehicle(s) involved. Police seek the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect, who was described as a female wearing a teal jacket with a hood, blue jeans, white/tan shoes, and carrying a green bag.
Robbery in Urbana - Posted 2/24/25
February 24, 2025
On February 17, 2025, police officers responded to Urban Beauty and Fashion at 1502 North Cunningham Avenue in Urbana for a reported robbery. Upon arrival, officers learned five suspects entered the business,concealed items, and fled the store south toward Oakland Avenue. Approximately 10 minutes later, all five suspects returned to the business. Employees attempted to prevent the suspects from reentering and thsuspects pepper strayed one employee and battered another before leaving the business again with additional stolen merchandise.
Police seek the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects captured on video. The suspects were described as five black females, approximately 16 to 24 years old, and were described as wearing the following.
Suspect 1 – pink hat, blue jacket with white fur around hood, a pink hooded sweatshirt, gray pants, and white/black shoes
Suspect 2 – black jacket, white hooded sweatshirt, blue Sponge Bob Square Pants pajama pants, black boots, carrying a black purse
Suspect 3 – black jacket, blue hooded sweatshirt, blue flannel pants, two toned blue tennis shoes
Suspect 4 – black hooded sweatshirt, black pants with red writing and an unknown white figure
Suspect 5 – orange hooded sweatshirt, red flannel pants, orange Croc style shoes, carrying a blue bag
Armed Robbery in Champaign - Posted 2/17/25

This week Champaign County Crime Stoppers is seeking assistance from the public regarding an armed robbery.
On January 4, 2025, at approximately 10:36 a.m., two males entered the Circle K at 1511 North Prospect Avenue in Champaign. One male immediately brandished a firearm as the suspects approached an employee and demanded merchandise. The suspects were denied access to the merchandise and fled soon after the altercation.
Police seek the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects captured on video. The suspects were described as two black males, approximately mid-teens to early 20’s. Suspect one had a blue blanket draped over him and was wearing a black ski mask, black jacket, and light-colored pants. Suspect two was wearing a brown hoodie with white lettering, a black ski mask, and dark pants.
Retail Theft in Urbana - Posted 2/10/25

Champaign County Crime Stoppers is seeking assistance from the public regarding a retail theft.
On January 18, 2025, at approximately 7:55 p.m., three unknown males entered Meijer at 2500 South Philo Road in Urbana. The males went directly to the electronics department and selected a 50-inch TV then headed to the checkout area where they split up. Two of the males distracted an employee to help the suspect leave without being confronted. The suspects fled with the stolen TV valued at $200.00. Police seek the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects. The suspects were described as three black males, all approximately 18 to 25 years old. The unknown suspects were described as follows:

Retail Theft in Champaign - Posted 2/3/25

This week Champaign County Crime Stoppers is seeking assistance from the public regarding a retail theft.
On January 17, 2025, at approximately 8:10 p.m., three subjects entered Meijer at 2401 North Prospect Avenue in Champaign. The trio split up and each selected merchandise separately before meeting back up briefly then all heading towards the exit. The subjects made no attempt to stop and pay for their selections. Loss prevention staff recovered $1700.00 in merchandise and the subjects fled with additional items valued at $1000.00. Police seek the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects captured on video. The suspects were described
as two black males, one white female, and all appeared to be approximately 26 to 35 years old. The trio left in a black Dodge coupe with tinted windows. The unknown suspects were described as follows:
Suspect 1 – male, 5’10” to 6’02” tall, wearing a black hat, black jacket, black shirt, and blue jeans
Suspect 2 – male, 5’03” to 5’09” tall, wearing a black hat, black head mask, black puffy coat, and black pants

Robbery in Champaign - Posted 1/27/25

This week Champaign County Crime Stoppers is seeking assistance from the public regarding a robbery.
On January 4, 2025, at approximately 4:00 p.m., an unknown male entered Sally Beauty Supply at 2016 North Prospect Avenue in Champaign. Once inside an employee assisted the suspect in selecting items and carried them to the front counter for checkout. The male then ordered the employee to the back of the store. The male grabbed the unpaid items from the counter and fled with nearly $400.00 in stolen merchandise.
Police seek the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect captured on video. The suspect was described as a black male with a mustache or goatee, 60-65 years old, and approximately 6’0” tall. He was last seen wearing an orange ballcap, a blue Illinois hooded sweatshirt, and jeans. The male was seen leaving the area in a white sedan.
Armed Robbery in Champaign - Posted 1/21/25

This week Champaign County Crime Stoppers is seeking assistance from the public regarding an armed robbery.
On December 5, 2024, at approximately 8:35 p.m., three subjects were robbed at gunpoint as they were leaving Circle K at 1503 North Neil Street in Champaign. The trio had exited the store and were walking back to their vehicle when approached by the suspect who spoke to them briefly before he brandished a handgun, pointed it at the group, and demanded their wallets and purse. The suspect fled the area with the stolen property.
The suspect was described as a black male with a medium build, approximately 5’6” to 5’7” tall. He was last seen wearing a black mask and all black clothing. Police are asking any resident or business in the nearby area with exterior surveillance cameras and/or persons with cell phone video to review the footage for any suspicious persons or vehicles captured in the area around the time of the incident. It is believed video footage may be of investigative assistance.
Retail Theft in Champaign - Posted 1/13/25

Champaign County Crime Stoppers is seeking assistance from the public regarding a retail theft.
On December 3, 2024, at approximately 3:41 p.m., a male subject entered Hollywood Liquors at 512 South Neil Street in Champaign carrying a tote bag. The subject began placing merchandise into the tote bag and was confronted by a store employee. Shortly after, the subject grabbed several additional items and left the store without paying. The stolen merchandise was valued at approximately $340.00.
Police seek the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect captured on video. The suspect was described as a black male with a dark beard. He was last seen wearing a white ‘Nirvana” hooded sweatshirt with black writing, black sweatpants, and tan or gray tennis shoes.
Homicide in Champaign County - Posted 12/30/24

On Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at approximately 8:54 p.m., Champaign County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 1500-block of Dobbins Drive, Champaign Township, for the report of a shooting. When Deputies arrived on scene, they discovered one male victim in the residence with a gunshot wound. Deputies and Medical personnel rendered lifesaving care but ultimately the victim, Alvin Parker, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police are asking any resident or business in the nearby area with exterior surveillance cameras and/or persons with cell phone video to review the footage for any suspicious persons or vehicles captured in the area around the time of the incident. Burglary in Champaign - Posted 12/23/24

Champaign County Crime Stoppers is seeking assistance from the public regarding a burglary.
On December 5, 2024, between 9:00 p.m. and 10:20 p.m., unknown subjects forced entry into Tire Monkey Automotive located at 1301 North Mattis Avenue in Champaign. The subjects rummaged through the office and stole cash, several vehicle keys, and a diagnostic scanning tool valued at $13,000.
The subjects stole a total of five vehicles from the business. Four vehicles were stolen during the initial burglary and a fifth vehicle was stolen when the offenders returned a few days later. Three of the vehicles have been recovered.
Police seek the public’s assistance with identifying one of the suspects captured on video. The suspect appeared to be wearing a balaclava mask and hooded sweatshirt.

Champaign County Crime Stoppers is seeking assistance from the public regarding a burglary.
On December 7, 2024, at approximately 1:00 a.m., two subjects shattered the glass door and made entry into Red Fox Smoke Shop at 1722 West Bradley Avenue in Champaign. The offenders grabbed tobacco and smoking devices and fled with the merchandise. The stolen items were valued at nearly $700.00.
Police seek the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects captured on video. The suspects appeared to be black males with a medium build. One suspect wore a dark green balaclava, black jacket, black pants, and a gray backpack. The second suspect wore a white or gray balaclava, black jacket, black pants, and carried a black bag.
Burglary to Motor Vehicle in Campustown - Posted 12/09/24

Crime Stoppers is seeking assistance from the public regarding a burglary to motor vehicle incident in the Campustown area. On November 11 at 2:50 am, a subject approached a locked vehicle parked in a metered spot in the alley north of Green St. near First St. Nearby security cameras showed the subject approaching the parked vehicle, breaking the rear passenger window, entering the vehicle and then fleeing soon after. The vehicle owner later returned to their vehicle and observed significant damage to the vehicle’s interior.
Police are requesting assistance in identifying the subject and/or any information related to similar crimes in the Campustown area. The suspect was observed wearing a black cap, light-blue surgical mask, and a dark hooded sweatshirt with a red logo in the center that resembled the “North Face” brand logo. The suspect wore black pants and black shoes with light gray on the bottom.
Theft of Lost Property in Champaign - Posted 12/02/24

This week Champaign County Crime Stoppers is seeking assistance from the public regarding a theft of lost/mislaid property.
On November 23, 2024, at approximately 2:49 p.m., unknown suspects found a lost wallet at Five Below, located at 2008 North Prospect Avenue in Champaign. Officers learned the victim noticed his wallet missing when he went to check out. Employees checked the surveillance video and observed two females standing near the lost wallet. One female picked up the wallet and the pair were observed checking the contents before leaving together with the wallet. The victim reported the wallet had a large amount of cash inside.
Police seek the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects captured on video. The suspects were described as two white females, one an older female and one middle-aged. One female was described as wearing glasses, all dark clothing, and gray shoes. The second female was described as wearing a tan patterned sweater, blue vest, jeans, and black shoes.

This week Champaign County Crime Stoppers is seeking assistance from the public regarding a theft and credit card fraud.
On September 30, 2024, at approximately 1:30 p.m., unknown suspects stole a wallet from a purse while the victim was dining at Olive Garden, located at 30 East Anthony Drive in Champaign. Officers learned the suspects sat down briefly at a table near the victim. As the suspects got up to leave, one suspect bumped into the victim’s chair as they walked past. A short time later the victim received alerts on her phone her credit cards were being used for large purchases. The stolen credit cards were used at Sam’s Club and Target with fraudulent transactions totaling over $5,000.00.

The female was described as wearing a white hat, a gray sweatshirt with stripes running over the shoulders and down the sleeves, and jeans. The male was described as a light-skinned black male wearing a green jacket, light-colored shirt, and jeans.

Champaign County Crime Stoppers is seeking assistance from the public regarding a retail theft.
On October 21, 2024, at approximately 2:21 p.m., a male suspect entered Dick’s Warehouse located at 63 East Marketview Drive in Champaign and headed directly to the footwear department. The male changed out his shoes then grabbed numerous shoes from boxes and filled his backpack. A female accomplice was already in the store and had selected the shoes the male would steal. The male left the store, emptied his backpack into a vehicle, and returned for a second load of shoes. The stolen shoes were valued at over $1,200.00.
Police seek the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects captured on video. The suspects appeared to be a black male and black female, approximately 20-30 years old. The male was last seen wearing a white hat, white polo shirt, and black pants. The female had long braided hair and was wearing a red long-sleeved shirt and dark pants.

This week Crime Stoppers is seeking assistance from the public regarding a burglary to motor vehicle and credit card fraud.
On October 20, 2024, between 2-6 p.m., an unknown suspect stole a wallet from an unlocked vehicle parked in a driveway. The suspect used the debit/credit cards from the stolen wallet to make purchases in person and online at Dick’s House of Sport, JD Sports, and Nike. The transactions totaled nearly $1,000.
Police seek the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect captured on video. The suspect appeared to be a heavy-set black male, approximately 18-24 years old, with his hair styled in twists. He was last seen wearing a black Nike sweatshirt with an orange/blue Nike logo and light gray distressed jeans.
